On 26 September 2019, the Independent Election Commission (IEC) held a pilot election (simulation) in one polling stations in Kabul. The purpose of the simulation was to test and evaluate the voting process, the biometric device, the transfer of results forms to the central server and identify multiples votes.

A Joint Meeting held among IEC management, Security-Defense instituations and other relevant IEC stakeholders who are involve in electoral process.

On 5 August 2019, the European Union (EU) Ambassador and other Ambassadors of the EU member states in Afghanistan met with IEC leadership to share information on progress and challenges of upcoming Presidential election and visited the National Data Entry Center at IEC HQ.
