Polling Centers

The Independent Election Commission, based on the timeline, has taken all the necessary preparations for the purpose of holding Wolesi Jirga Elections on 18th Sep 2010. Currently, following the end of the Candidate Nomination Process, announcement of the final list of Candidate, production of ballot papers the IEC is announcing the polling station list for 2010 Wolesi Jirga elections. According with the electoral timeline.

The IEC, for 2010 WJ elections initially prepared the list of 6835 polling centers and 19945 station and shared with all security institutions for their respective consideration and assessment of security implications.

The security institutions after the completion of the verification process reported to IEC that from a total of 6835 mentioned polling centers, they will be able to secure 5897 polling centers of 18762 stations on Election Day. From initial lists, the security forces will not be able to securely cover 938 polling center with 2448 polling stations.. It is important to mention that after the announcement of polling centers list there won’t be any increase in the numbers of polling centers, but this number decrease depending on the latest development related to security.

In Nangarhar province, 81 Polling Centers will not be possible to open due to
