On 8 June 2019 IEC management inaugurated the Voter Registration Update. The Independent Election Commission of Afghanistan has started the Voter Registration (VR) Update which includes Top-up voter registration for voters who did not registered yet and will turn 18 by the election day, as well as the display of the Voter List for correction. A full Voter registration is taking place in Ghazni province, where the previous registration is invalid.

Eligible voters with valid Tazkeira can register and ask for corrections from 8 to 29 June 2019, at District Centers and Najas, every day, including Fridays, from 7 am to 4 pm.

The VR process in ongoing across the 34 provinces of Afghanistan: 485 centers in 33 provinces and 247 centers in Ghanzi for full VR.

IEC Char, Mrs. Hawa Alam Nooristani, inaugurated the Voter Registration Update at Nadira High school in Kabul, in presence of media and civil society organizations.

During the event, IEC CEO, Dr. Habibullah Nang stated that thanks to the fruitful cooperation with security forces, the material for the registration has been successfully delivered to 408 centers and the rest in on the way and will be delivered shortly.
